"A Land of Milk and Honey" – Two Forgotten Powerful Medicines. Part 2

Honey is replacing white sugar because more and more people are realizing that white sugar is one of the worst foods around. Honey is much sweeter than white sugar and is quickly assimilated directly into the bloodstream. Plus honey is packed with many minerals and enzymes.

Honey has been used as medicine for centuries. All types of honey, both raw and heated, work naturally to harmonize the liver, neutralize toxins and relieve pain. Its warming/cooling energy is neutral. Honey moistens dryness and treats dry or hoarse throat and dry cough. Both raw and heated types of honey are useful for treating stomach ulcers, cancer sores, high blood pressure, and constipation and can be applied directly to burns. Honey’s sweet and toxic removal properties are used to break the cycle of alcoholism. Alcohol is a sugar. Give honey by the spoonful when more alcohol is craved during a hangover. Honey’s harmonizing effect is also beneficial when a person is overworked, having menstrual problems, or is exhausted.

A small amount of honey is normally adequate for those whose diet is primarily grains and vegetables. For most purposes, dilute one to three teaspoons of honey in warm water or mix with other food to reduce its strong effect. Heat processed honey should not be used by people with copious amounts of mucus. Raw, completely unprocessed, unheated honey is preferable; it has the ability to dry up mucus and is helpful for those with edema and too much weight.

Honey has strong probiotic properties. It also has sleep-inducing, sedative and tranquilizing properties.

The nutrients in honey are believed to assist in preventing and re-missing cancer, heart and other diseases. According to the United States researchers, dark colored honey, such as buckwheat honey, is generally thought to contain higher levels of nutrients than the light colored varieties. Honey also has the same level of disease resistant nutrients as fruits.

I have personally assisted skin ulcerated sores in patients confined to bed… “Bed-Sore’s” that are thought to be un-healable because surgery, cauterizing, antibiotics and more did nothing to help… I pack the wounds that sometimes are as deep as the bone in the leg with raw organic honey… within weeks they are healed and new flesh has grown back to replace the dead rotted necrosis of the open sore. Health truly is as Sweet as Honey!!
For centuries, honey has been used for everything from sweetening foods and drinks to treating and healing our bodies. You get the most benefits from honey when it is used in the form nature and the bee’s made it – which means raw and in pure, organic form – straight from the hive. Fresh raw honey simply tastes better and is more potent.

Honey is considered one of nature’s purest foods. It’s a natural protector/inhibitor, today called antioxidants, honey is known to contain 22 amino acids, 27 minerals and 5,000 enzymes. Organic honey can help keep you healthy by boosting the immune system, preventing and clearing disease and treating a wide range of health problems from coughs and colds to digestion problems and arthritis.

Other health benefits that come from using raw organic honey is a very sweet list:

  • Overcomes fatigue. Organic raw honey contains carbohydrates that arm you with energy, endurance and strength.
  • Breathe easier. Honey, taken before bedtime, can help with Asthma symptoms.
  • Aching joints. Drinking honey in hot water with cinnamon has helped relieve the pain and immobility associated with arthritis.
  • Hacking coughs. Using honey with other ingredients can help ease the annoying nighttime cough.
  • Upset tummy. Because honey doesn’t ferment in the stomach, it is easily absorbed with no danger of bacterial infection (fungus, mold and bacteria cannot live in honey).

Unprocessed, raw honey actually helps heal burns, cuts, scrapes and wounds. Its natural cleansing (antiseptic) properties can actually keep wounds clean and stop bacteria from spreading. Because it’s a natural probiotic, it helps reduce swelling, promotes healing and preventions infections in burns.

Honey is also being used more thanks to “word of mouth.” There are many oral benefits from honey as well. It can actually help heal cancer sores and bleeding gums. Honey is also used to fight bad breath all day when gargled in the morning.

The beauty of using raw, organic honey is more appealing then ever. Applying a small amount of honey over the skin, then rinsing off leaves skin baby soft. Honey is also used as part of homemade facial masks to help tighten pores and soften facial lines. Using honey on the hair and scalp prior to washing leaves hair shiny, soft and full of body. Finally, honey used as a soap helps to clear up facial blemishes.

The honeymoon is never really over. It’s been discovered that raw honey actually helps men with problems of impotency and women with infertility problems. In fact, raw honey mixed with warm goat milk can actually increase a man’s sperm count considerably.

You’ll lose more than you’ll gain with honey. More people are using honey as part of their weight-loss program. Honey actually helps reduce fat buildup and metabolize cholesterol which is a factor in causing obesity. Honey also contains the vitamins and minerals that the body needs when you are on a strict diet. Finally, here’s some food for thought about organic raw honey.

In its purest form, raw honey contains no preservatives, artificial colorings or additives – so when you cook with it, all you’ll taste is the sweet goodness. It’s also used more and more as a ‘fake sugar substitute’ because you get fewer calories, is easier for the body to process and brings out the flavor of your foods and beverages.

Remember, raw honey is not recommended for infants under 12 months.

Keep your honey in the raw!!!

It’s only logical and reasonable that going organic provides a healthier mind, body and a spirit of Joy and Freedom from discomforts/disease. Honey is a gift from nature – open it, enjoy it and use it – because the benefits will never spoil.
