Detoxifying your body means getting rid of toxins from your body. Everyday we are exposed to pollutants in our environment and foods, especially if we are not eating organic foods. During our detox time we are letting our body heal by giving it want it wants most – nutrient dense greens, foods filled with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. TheseĀ juice recipesĀ will help you detoxify your body inside and out. You will see the results physically and feel them as well.
There are many ways to detox your body. One of the most common detoxification method is fasting. Juice fasting is defined as the abstinence from all solid foods, so you’re only drinking fresh juices and water. This is one of the quickest ways to eliminate wastes and enhance the healing processes of you the body. Juice fasting spares essential tissue such as vital organs while using nonessential tissue such as fat tissue for fuel.
Juice Recipes for Detox:
1. Beets!
Juice recipesĀ that have beets are great. Beets are full of vitamins B3, B6, C, beta-carotene, magnesium, zinc and calcium which are all essential for promoting detoxification and toxin elimination from the body. Beets are also great for supporting optimal gallbladder and liver functions.
This is one of my favorite juice recipes. Juice recipes that contain beets are also good for aĀ pre or post-workoutĀ drink because beets contain nitrates which improve oxygen use during exercising.
2. Kale
Juice recipes with dark leafy greens such as kale are amazing for detoxifying your body. Kale is high in iron. Per calorie kale contains more iron that beef. Iron is essential in the formation of hemoglobin which transports oxygen to various parts of the body.
Kale is packed with vitamin K which can help promote normal bone health. Juice recipes containing kale are also beneficial during detox because kale is a great anti-inflammatory food. Kale contains omega-3 fatty acids which aid in arthritis problems.
Kale is packed with vitamin A, and C which help with vision, skin and immune system. Vitamin C also helps Ā regulating your metabolism. Juice recipes that contain kale also contain lots of calcium because per calorie kale contains more calcium than milk. Calcium is important in preventing osteoporosis.
I love juice recipes that contain kale and I always add kale to my own juice recipes. Here is an amazing detoxifying kale juice recipe.
3. Cucumbers & Celery
I love adding cucumbers and celery to any of my juice recipes. I especially like cucumbers during a detox because they are a great base to any juice and they are natural diuretics.
Cucumbers are amazing vegetables for juicing. The skin of cucumbers are composed of many important minerals like silica. Silica is important for our connective tissue. It helps our connective tissue stay strong, which is important for holding our body together.
Silica is also found in intracellular cement, muscles, tendons, ligaments, bone and cartilage. Even when juiced cucumber has a great source of silica. Cucumber juice also helps with skin complexion. When juicing cucumbers choose ones that are medium to dark green and firm.
Celery contains polyacetylene which is aids in anti inflammatory action. Celery juice is great for people with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, and bronchitis. Besides anti inflammatory effects celery also aids in digestion, lowers blood pressure, aids in weight loss, aids in elimination andĀ prevention of gall bladder stones, and lowers cholesterol.
