Simple Acid Reflux/GERD Remedy With No Catch and No Side-Effects
(BeWellBuzz) When you swallow, saliva, food and drink travel down a tube called the esophagus, which connects your mouth to your stomach. Normally, once the food is released into the stomach a muscle at the end of the esophagus closes off the passageway, preventing digestive acids from leaving the stomach and traveling back up towards the mouth. When a person suffers with chronic acid reflux or heartburn, also called GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), the valve at the end of the tube stays relaxed or open, allowing bile, enzymes and stomach acid to “reflux,” or flow back up into the esophagus, causing irritation, inflammation and damage to the soft tissues in the tube. If you or someone you love suffers with GERD, you know it can be excruciatingly painful, and it’s always downright miserable.
Conventional Treatments
The most common conventional treatments for GERD are doubly problematic. First, they don’t touch the problem but mask the symptoms. Second, they actually damage the body and promote illness.
In February 2012, the FDA released a statement warning health-care providers that “PPIs” may increase the risk of a serious, even deadly disease called Clostridium difficile (C. Diff). “PPI” stands for proton pump inhibitor. These are the common conventional treatments for GERD. Rather than banning or discontinuing manufacture of these drugs, which we now know are hurting and even killing people, the FDA has required drug companies to include a warning on medication labels, and issued the statement:
“Patients should use the lowest dose and shortest duration of PPI therapy appropriate to the condition being treated.”
How about zero? C. Diff causes chronic, unstoppable and continuous diarrhea. As the disease progresses the patient takes on fever and becomes susceptible to serious illness including pneumonia and even death. If there was no other solution, we might see justification for taking the risk. But the fact that pharmaceuticals can’t patent fruit doesn’t mean you can’t be healed by it.
The potentially dangerous PPI medications include:
- AcipHex (rabeprazole sodium)
- Dexilant (dexlansoprazole)
- Nexium (esomeprazole magnesium)
- Prevacid (lansoprazole) and OTC Prevacid 24 hr
- Prilosec (omeprazole) and Omeprazole OTC
- Protonix (pantoparazole sodium)
- Vimovo (esomeprazole magnesium and naproxen)
- Zegrid (omeprazole and sodium bicarbonate) and OTC
Sweet and All-Natural Pain Relief
Joe Barton, author and founder of Barton Publishing, recently announced his “Acid Reflux Solution Kit.” In his introduction Barton tells the story of his father who’d suffered for over 10 years and nearly died from GERD, until the day he had a red delicious apple before bed. Now after decades of research, the kit details multiple home remedies, tips and tricks both to relieve the pain and cure GERD, drug-free.
As your first tip and quickest pain relief remedy, keep a stock of apples that are sweet, not tart. Eating organic apples including red delicious, fuji, braeburn, gala, golden delicious, etc., will help to prevent the incidence of heartburn.
Eat a half or a whole apple after each meal, as a mid-afternoon snack, and if you experience the terrible burning during the night, before bed. As Barton describes his father’s habit, eat it like candy. You can also drink the raw juice of the apple. Take the fresh organic “candy” from the earth, core it and juice it with the skin-on.
Feel better!
