Secret Beauty Tonic for Beautiful Skin & Hair
Apple cider vinegar is a simple, low-cost, easy to use health and beauty product with many benefits. Ideally, this should be in every home’s pantry. If not, please be sure to put it on your grocery list. Apple cider vinegar is natural and has so many uses and benefits for everything from weight loss to immune system, digestive and skin health. It may not come in a pretty bottle or smell like a fragrant perfume but the beauty and healing benefits are numerous, dating back to Roman times.
When purchasing apple cider vinegar, be sure it is organic and raw (unpasteurized).
Take As A Beverage:
Add 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to 8 ounces of warm or room temperature water and drink daily. You can add 1 teaspoon of honey (ideally local, cold-pressed honey), stevia or molasses as a sweetener. Apple cider vinegar enhances the glow and health of skin and slows down skin aging since it is loaded with antioxidants and minerals. It also alkalinizes the blood, flushes harmful toxins, enhances digestion and can even stop sugar cravings!
Apple cider vinegar also stimulates the growth of hair follicles. Good circulation is essential for healthy and strong hair. Apple cider vinegar taken as a beverage both enhances blood circulation and provides essential nutrients to hair follicles.
Used As a Facial Toner
Some women use apple cider vinegar as a facial toner. It has been shown to reduce and dry both acne and blemishes. It may even soften your skin. Thankfully, your face will not smell like vinegar for very long since the smell fades quickly. To make the toner, just add 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to 2 teaspoons of water. Then with a cotton ball lightly dab the skin with it.
For acne, you can put apple cider vinegar directly on a pimple with a cotton swab.
* If you have very sensitive skin, I recommend first adding less than half a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to 4 teaspoons of water and testing it on a very small area of your skin.
Soothes Mild Sunburns
Mix 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with 1 to 2 cups of cold water. Then soak either a washcloth or gauze strips in the mixture and wrap the cloth or strips around the sunburned areas. Continue applying to the areas as needed. This should be followed by applying an aloe vera skin moisturizer, since vinegar can be dry the skin.
You also can pour the mixture into a spray bottle and spray it directly on the sunburned skin. Repeat as needed after letting the skin air dry. Remember to always apply an aloe vera skin moisturizer after using the apple cider vinegar mixture on your skin.
Shiny Hair
Apple cider vinegar can be used as a conditioner to restore dry, dull-looking hair. It also helps remove build-up from hair products, stops dandruff and soothes an itchy, irritated scalp.
Fill a spray bottle with purified water and add 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. After you shampoo, spray your hair and scalp with the mixture. Leave it on for a few minutes and then rinse. Apple cider vinegar also makes the hair smoother and helps close the hair’s cuticle so light is more easily reflected. The end result is you have beautiful, shiny hair.
Be careful to avoid spraying the apple cider vinegar-water mixture in your eyes!
How is Apple Cider Vinegar made?
Apple cider vinegar is made by crushing fresh apples and squeezing out the liquid, which is then fermented. Unpasteurized or organic apple cider vinegar has “mother of vinegar,” which is a dark, cloudy substance from naturally occurring apple pectin and residues.
Vinegar with this “mother of vinegar” are richer in enzymes and minerals than other vinegars, which usually are over-processed and overheated. Apple cider vinegar is loaded with vitamins A, B and C plus beta carotene, calcium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, copper, iron, sulfur, fluorine, silicon, boron, bioflavonoids and pectin.
