Superfood Smoothies
This month was about superfood information… now let’s put them in use!
We would like to share with you 3 superfood smoothie recipes: green smoothie, sweet smoothie (kids will love it) and one of my superfood smoothie (chocolate herbal super smoothie 🙂
“Power Plant”, nutrient-dense green superfood smoothie!
Ingredients:
1 cup pure water
2 medium leaves of kale
1 large Fuji apple, cored and chopped
1 and 1/2 tablespoons raw hemp protein powder
2 tablespoons shelled raw hemp seeds
2 tablespoons dried goji berries
2 teaspoons raw maca root powder
1 teaspoon green superfood powder
1 teaspoon chia seeds
Using a high-speed blender like Vita-mix (http://www.vitamix.com and enter 06-005636 to get free shipping), blend together all of the ingredients until the kale, apple, hemp seeds, goji berries, and chia seeds have been completely broken down and the mixture is creamy. Pour the mixture into a tall glass. Serve!
“Strawberry Shake”
1 cup almond milk
1 cup ripe organic strawberries
6 small dates (or 4 medium dates, or 2 very large dates), pitted
1/2 of a large vanilla bean, or 1/4 teaspoon of raw ground vanilla powder
1 tablespoon raw coconut butter
Using a high-speed blender (Vita-mix, http://www.vitamix.com and enter 06-005636 to get free shipping), first blend together the almond milk, dates, vanilla and coconut butter until creamy. Then add the strawberries and blend again until the strawberries seeds have been completely incorporated. If you have a Vita-Mix or other type of powerful blender, the end result should be virtually seedless. Pour the mixture into a tall glass. Garnish the glass with a small strawberry. Serve!
If you would like to add more superfoods to this recipe, add some hemp and chia seeds and some bee pollen. You can’t really taste any of them but you will be getting all the benefits.
BeWellBuzz “Vegas Style” Chocolate Herbal Super Smoothie
Our friends Kevin & Ann Marie Gianni came to visit us on their Renegade Health Tour and we just had to make them our smoothie. Oksana shows you how it’s done!
Ingredients:
¼ cup cashews
2 tbsp coconut oil
1 drop full of stevia
1 tbsp local raw honey
2 pinches of sea salt
1 tsp hemp seeds (optional)
Blend on high for 30 secs
Then add the following:
1 Banana
Big handful of frozen berries
Big handful Goji Berries
2-3 tbsp cacao
1 tbsp maca
1 tbsp mesquite
1 tbsp tocotrienols
1 tbsp barley protein
2 tbsp chia seeds
½ tsp mucuna
1 tsp local bee pollen
¼ tsp ashwagandha
1 tsp shilajit
1 tsp MSM
1 tbsp Green Powder (HealthForce Vitamineral Greens)
1 tsp hemp protein powder (Sunwarrior)
1.5 cups either Coconut Water or Nut Milk
