If It’s Not Organic, Then You Need to Panic!!!
Tony Robbins, an American self-help author and motivational speaker says that complete health is made up of 10% physical and 90% mental. And I agree with him totally.
You must have both to be able to survive in this world. Your mind and body are one.
To the surprise of most people and contrary to what they may think, the most important part of optimal well-being is the state of your mental health. If you had to choose, which defect would you prefer: to be a person in bed with the mind of a genius and the paralyzed body of a vegetable, or a person in bed with a body like Hercules or a goddess and a mind in a coma? The mind wins out every single time, because without a healthy brain your body cannot function; but your mind can still function without a healthy body. So it is imperative that you feed your mind with positive, non-toxic self-development ideas and information to make sure it is in optimal condition.
The old saying goes, “Healthy body; healthy mind.” But I beg to differ. My new saying is, “Healthy mind; healthy body.”
Recently I came across some scientific facts and information that really made sense to me and were quite shocking, to say the least. The alternative health industry gurus of today have claimed that the food and drinks we consume have chemicals and preservatives that are killing us slowly every single day of our lives. Most of the diseases that cause us pain and even death are related to what we are consuming on a daily basis.
I do not wish to go into detail here, as this is not what my book is about. But I strongly encourage you to do yourself a favor and engage in your own research into this, as it just might save your life.
For about five years now, I have adopted the attitude, “If it is not organic, then you should panic,” because before I consume anything, I want to minimize the risk of putting toxic substances into my body. I wish I had been exposed to this information years ago. I would have acted sooner and enjoyed the benefits much longer.
When you do your own research, you will find that nearly everything produced for human consumption has some potential of harming or decreasing your health in your body and, in turn, your mind. I was shocked and horrified to find out the quality of the ingredients in what I was eating and drinking, in the everyday items that you and I purchase in the grocery stores. For nearly forty years I was ignorant—along with many millions of people—of the fact that I was harming myself by assuming that what was on the supermarket shelves was not killing me slowly and was healthy as advertised by the media outlets.
How wrong could I be, together with all the brainwashed people in the world, to reach the conclusion that what we are consuming is not harmful to our health? I have found in my research that this is unquestionably true. I hope that you will do your due diligence and change your eating habits the way I did to save yourself from creating your own diseases and an unhealthy lifestyle.
These days, whenever I can purchase organic products, I do so without hesitation. Yes, it is more expensive, but at least I know that I have a much better chance of living my life with fewer toxic chemicals in my body and less chance of getting sick than I would if I did not. It can be challenging to find all your consumable items in the organic form, but at least I have noticed more and more organic products surfacing in our supermarkets these days, which assists us by giving easy access to them. Maybe they have finally caught on. And the results speak for themselves. I am happy to say that I rarely get sicknesses of any kind and have never been too unwell to work, play, or do any activities.
One of the immediate benefits I noticed was the taste. Everything is so much richer and more pleasant to the taste buds. Tomatoes, carrots, broccoli, milk, mushrooms, and oranges, just to name a few, are so much more palatable that it must be experienced to be believed.
While I have been enjoying these times, I have noticed that many people I know who say to me, “I can’t afford to buy organic products” are often sick, tired, and pick up every virus that happens to come their way. It’s interesting to comment that these same people can afford to purchase more shoes, more alcohol, more DVDs, a new TV, and the list goes on and on. More materialistic items are more important than their well-being. I might add that since I have been buying organic produce, I really have not noticed the extra cost involved in acquiring them. I have found that you just adjust your budget accordingly. But you will not do this if it does not make sense to you or is not a priority in your habitual behavior.
If you were to choose one thing to increase your level of health and sustain it, consuming organic should be it. It has worked for me, and it will work for you too.
It is my view that the main reason the non-organic producers produce the way they do is so that they can make more profit with fewer expenses, as they know most consumers will buy on price, not on quality. I think people are becoming more aware that the costs they are saving in their pockets are being sacrificed and are, in fact, affecting their health. And after noticing more and more organic products showing up in our retail outlets on a regular basis, it tells me there is a shift happening within people’s choices. They are beginning to accept the value they put on the extra cost in exchange for receiving the benefits of organically grown products.
In today’s society, it is nearly impossible to have a completely healthy environment inside and outside your physical body, but I do believe the best thing you can do is maximize the benefits and minimize the risks. This is what I am suggesting here.
In saying this, I have not become a health-freakish person and decided to abstain myself altogether from any other sort of food and drink that might take my fancy. But I do make sure that I balance myself by drinking plenty of water and eating as much organic produce as I can possibly get my hands on.
My purpose, vision, and mission of this book is to assist you in creating a well-balanced life—in all areas of your life—and to reach out to as many people as possible. My goal is not for me to encourage you to become a health fanatic, but to be aware of the more efficient ways to increase your health and vitality to enjoy a balanced way of living.
Surely you have heard the old saying, “You are what you eat.” They say that for a very good reason: because it’s true. You choose organic/natural foods; your body grows naturally. You choose foods with preservatives and added chemicals; your body grows genetically modified. How much more simple does it need to be? “Don’t Panic; It’s Organic.”
